Angela Maria
Beckman
March 30, 1947 – March 25, 2026
Angela Beckman, a woman whose kindness and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone she met, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to her family.
Born on March 30, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Nancy DeRugeriis, Angela’s life was defined by her nurturing spirit. She was a proud alumna of Merion Mercy Academy and went on to graduate from Gwynedd Mercy University. Her passion for education led her to a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher, where she was loved by her students as she shaped their minds with the same patience and care she showed her own family.
Angela’s heart was always open. She was "motherly" not only to her own children, but to every friend who walked through her door. She had a vibrant engaging personality and possessed a deep appreciation for the arts, with a particular passion for theater and dance. She also found endless joy in the quiet beauty in writing, the simple elegance of a tea party, the pure magic of Disney, and the beautiful friendships found in book clubs. In recent years, she found great happiness in her favorite place, The Villages in Florida, where she enjoyed the sunshine and the friendly and welcoming community.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary G. Beckman, and her two daughters who were her pride and joy: Heather Beckman Erwin (husband Charlie) and Lora Beckman Elfreth (husband Ed). Her legacy lives on through her four beloved grandchildren: Becca, Ryan, Beckman, and Blake, all of whom she adored beyond measure. Angela is also survived by her younger brother, Joe DeRugeriis (wife Terry), and her three caring sisters-in-law: Janice Falconi (husband Jerry), Mimi Beckman, and Kathy Dunn.
At Angela’s request, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Pink Nuns. Contributions may be sent via check or money order to:
