It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Adam William Martin, 48, at his home in Port Charlotte, FL on January 22, 2026. Adam was born on August 3, 1977, in Columbus, Ohio to Sarah Ann Gentry Martin and the late Douglas (Skip) Martin.
In addition to his father, Adam is preceded in death by his daughter, Hannah Martin.
Adam is survived by his wife, Kari Janel Holleran Martin; mother, Sarah Ann Gentry Martin; children, Zachary, Max, and Kolby Martin; brother, Alex Martin, and Aaron Martin; father and mother in-law, William and Deborah Holleran; sister in-law, Amy Bess; brother in-law, Edmund Holleran and wife Lisa and several other friends and family.
Growing up in Sunbury, Ohio, Adam excelled in baseball and even played at the college level, known for his impressive pitching skills. He could throw a ball scary fast! He graduated from Big Walnut High School in the class of '96, where he was recognized for his unwavering support for the Ohio State Buckeyes and his friendly nature. During game time, he was all about business and preferred not to be disturbed.
In 2003, Adam met the love of his life, Kari Holleran, leading to a beautiful marriage in 2005. The couple relocated to Florida in 2013, creating many cherished memories with their family in Port Charlotte. Adam was a devoted father who cherished his children deeply. He was known for his adventurous spirit and his ability to engage in meaningful conversations.
When reflecting on Adam's life, words like God-loving, fatherly, MHP, determined, hardworking, loyal, buckeyes and friendly come to mind. His faith in God was unwavering, and his family held a special place in his heart.
Adam had a way of coming up with sayings that were so funny and memorable, that these sayings are even being said by the next generation! Between him and Skip you would be crying laughing!
In addition to his baseball skills, Adam had various talents, including building custom fences with his family, engaging in mushroom hunting, collecting megalodon teeth, riding jet skis, and memorizing Buckeyes stats. He was also known for his witty sayings that brought laughter to those around him.
Later in life, Adam found success in sales, earning numerous awards with his company. He took pride in his appearance and had a keen eye for style. Adam will be remembered for his positive words and unwavering loyalty, qualities that are rare to find.
He would want everyone to know that his love for Jesus and his family was paramount. His passing has left a void in the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home located at 1100 El Jobean Road in Port Charlotte. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM with Pastor Ethan Green Officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
