IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alan Curt
Brown
April 29, 1950 – September 4, 2024
Alan Curt Brown went to be with Jesus on the morning of September 4th, 2024 at 7:11am. He was holding his daughter, Angel, and his granddaughter, Carrington's hands and listening to them share memories of his life when he left this earth. He passed in Angel and her husband, Jim's home in Sanford, FL where he had been living for most of the year while he fought the hard fight against cancer.
Alan was born in Allentown, PA to LaRoy Alan Brown and Ella Mary (Long) Brown on April 29,1950. He is predeceased by his parents as well as his two younger brothers, Johnny and Roy. When Alan was a young boy, his parents relocated the family to Florida and settled in the town of Winter Park. While he did move away from the family property in his early twenties he eventually moved back there in his early thirties and lived on that same land in Winter Park up until his passing. The property his father originally purchased was grandfathered in to the county to have two homesteads on it. When Alan was growing up his grandparents lived there next door to him. When Alan moved back in his thirties after being divorced, he brought his two children to live there next door to his dad. When Alan's dad passed his oldest granddaughter moved into the second home on the property while she attended UCF and eventually his second oldest granddaughter lived there while she attended UCF. That property and the two houses on it helped foster the unique closeness that the Brown family has shared through the years.
Alan attended Brookshire elementary, Glenridge Middle School and Colonial High School. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam. Alan was an entrepreneur and owned Royal Home Improvement with his father up until his father's passing and then continued the business until his own retirement.
Alan leaves behind his daughter, Angel Shawver, and her husband, Jim Shawver and his son, Mark Brown. He also leaves his four grandchildren, Kennedy Parrish and her husband, Josh Parrish, Carrington Shawver, Ava Brown and Evan Brown. He also had two great grandsons, Conrad Parrish and Brooks Parrish.
Alan also leaves behind nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws and many friends from all the different groups he was involved in during his life that included dancing, biking, camping, adventure racing, boating, classic car clubs and so many more where he made friends. In the tributes that people have written about him since his passing people have said he was pretty much everything to everybody and that the world would be a better place if there were more Alan Browns. He was very loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A service in celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, September 17th at 11:45am at Saint Andrews Chapel located at 5525 Wayside Dr. Sanford, FL 32771.
