Winter Garden, FL -Alan H. Darling, 77, died June 4, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospice in Clermont, FL. He was born October 18, 1947, in Greenfield, MA, the son of Herbert E. Darling and Dorcas Fitch Darling of Greenfield, MA.

Alan graduated from Greenfield High School, Class of 1965. Following graduation, he served with the US Air Force in Texas and the Panama Canal. After his service, he married Susan Pelis in 1976, and they settled in So. Deerfield, MA and eventually moved to Florida.

Alan worked for the Marriot Orlando World Center as the supervisor for interior landscape. His love of plants and gardening carried over to his home. He also enjoyed restoring and riding English motorcycles. He collected stereoscope cards and was a member of the National Stereoscopic Association. Alan and Susan loved to travel to the Southwest and visit National Parks. They had many adventures. Alan was always sharp-witted and perceptive as a husband, uncle and friend.

As an Air Commando in Panama from 1967-68, he worked on U10 aircrafts in the Maintenance and Technical Control area. He was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal (now Air and Space) and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He was a member of The American Legion.

He leaves behind his wife, Susan Pelis Darling of Winter Garden, FL; two brothers, Eugene Darling of Montague, MA and Roy Darling of Greenfield, MA; a niece Wendy Darling-Maznick of Louisburg, NC; three cousins; Regina Darling Hegg of Sun City, AZ, Dean Tatro of Orewa, NZ, and Philip Tatro of Ocala, FL. Alan was predeceased by his parents Herbert E. Darling and Dorcas Fitch Darling and one brother, Bruce Darling.

Private funeral arrangements will be made by Baldwin Brothers in Apopka, FL.

Interment will be in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
