MOORE

Alan James, age 73, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on April 29, 2019 under the care of hospice at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House.  Alan was born in 1945 in Cleveland, OH the son of William and Bernice Moore.  He worked as a crane operator in a steel mill for years and loved playing the organ and accordion for weddings and parties throughout the years.  Alan leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara Ann of Palm Coast, FL; daughter, Laura Jean (Dennis Keith) Miller of Columbia, MO; son, Richard Alan Moore of Palm Coast, FL; 2 grandsons, Charlton Wayne and Kenneth Harry Miller, also of Columbia, MO; brother, Dennis (Kathy) Moore and their children Bobby and Jennifer of Avon, OH; brother-in-law, David (Marie) Phillips and son, Matthew of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law, Diana Jean (Eric) Gonzales of Palm Coast, FL; aunt, Lillian Schabel of North Olmstead, OH; nephew, Joseph (Rebekah) Gonzales and their children Elliot, Jacob and Oswin of Jacksonville, FL; 5 nieces, Denise (Erik) Smith and their children Megan, Atticus, Kurtis and Kirsten of Beverly Hills, FL; Lisa (David) Chernitsky and son Adam, of St Augustine, FL; Kaitlyn Phillips of Middleburg Heights, OH; Jami (Jay) Gingraux of Middleburg Heights, OH; Deanne (Don) Yahner and son Caden of Elyria, OH; and cousins, Janet (Mike) Beckstrand of Indianapolis, IN; Cheryl (Jim) Phillips of Middleburg Heights, OH; Kirsten Phillips and family of Middleburg Heights, OH; and Beth (Rocky) Johnson of Palm Coast, FL.

Alan loved making people happy, he loved to entertain and have family and friends over to the house, all of the time.  He didn't know a stranger. He was loved by everyone!!  He was so strong, and took care of everyone, always putting other people first.  Alan loved his family, especially Barbara, they are soul mates.  They did everything together.  Alan also loved his daughter, son and grandchildren very much.  He is a Marine, a hero, who fought in the Vietnam War, and we are so proud of him.  When Alan wasn't entertaining family and friends and he loved playing cards at the Senior Center.  He loved to fish, play the accordion and organ, and playing Bumble Ball at the pool. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
