IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alan Anthony
Roman
November 13, 1946 – April 25, 2025
Alan Anthony Roman, 78 of Ocala, died peacefully at home on Friday, April 25, 2025, surrounded by love.
He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 11/13/1946 to Joseph and Velma Roman. The family later moved to Randolph, New York where Alan graduated from Randolph Central High School in 1965. Upon graduation Alan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from July 1965 through April 1968.
Alan was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and the Disabled American Veterans. He served as District 21 VFW Commander in 2007-2008. At the time of death Alan belonged to Angela S. Santos VFW Post No. 4781 in Ocala and the DAV FL Chapter 11. He enjoyed being outdoors, woodcarving and working with his hands, "if Alan had some sticks and glue, he was a very happy man".
Alan is survived by his wife Kathy Roman, daughters Christina (David) Chalker of Ocala, Jessica Timpanaro of Clearwater and son Paul Roman of Clearwater; granddaughters Mariea Perez and Jenna Timpanaro; brothers Mike (Janey) Roman and Brian (Penny) Roman; brother-in-laws Chris (Tuni) Hensler and Cliff Gehrke, sister-in-law Meg Roman, along with several nieces and nephews. The words oftentimes were hard for Alan to say, but he loved his family very much.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Velma Roman, grandson Jacob Timpanaro, brothers Tom (Lillie) Roman, Clark Roman and sister Darlene Gehrke.
There are no services scheduled at this time. A "Celebration of Life" for family and friends will be planned for a later date.
