Al was born in Philadelphia, moving to Atlantic City as a child. Al was a WW11 Veteran, having served in the U.S.A.A.F as a Staff Sgt with The Flying Tigers B25 bombers in Burma, China, and India. Al's lifelong interest in the sea included owning and operating his own boat yard in Brigatine, N.J. Al also worked as Head Boat Captain from Atlantic City, N.J, to Naples, Fl, including Fort Myers Beach, where he eventually settled in the commercial fishing industry. Al was a Master Shipwright and a lifelong teacher of all things nautical. Al shared his extensive knowledge and was a mentor to many. Al fished out of The Bonita Fish Company on Fort Myers Beach and Southport, N.C. Captain Al operated throughout the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. In Fort Myers Beach, he worked and was associated with many boats Ms. Snug Harbor, Joann, Blue Heron, Harbor Queen, Viking and Orion. Captain Al was predeceased by wife Alma, brother Harry. Al is remembered and missed by longtime friends Maureen, Rusty, Mary and Cherry.
Al's service will be held on 12/01/2020 at 12:00 PM graveside. There will be an Honor Guard. It's at Hodges Lee Memorial Gardens on SR82
