Alfred Howe Deans "Aldeans" 71, died peacefully Thursday January 23, 2020 at the Halifax Health-Hospice Center in Edgewater.

Al leaves a loving wife of 19 years, Lori (Piscitello) of New Smyrna Beach, FL. He is survived by his 2 sons, Stephen and Scott, Scott's Wife, Lorna from Wallingford, CT, Stepson Al and Shelly Ward of New Smyrna Beach, FL, 4 grandchildren, Patrick, Casey, Alan and Colin. Al is also survived by his sister and 3 brothers, Brenda, Lewis, Lloyd, Larry of Maine. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Hilda Deans (Heath) 2 brothers, Laurant (Elwin) Bennett and Douglas Deans, all from Maine.

Born in Bangor, Maine, He spent his childhood in town of Orland and graduated from Bucksport High School. Soon after graduating, he left Maine and settled in Connecticut. He began a life as a mechanic in automotive and construction  industry. He eventually started his own business as an owner operator of a heavy equipment repair business for over 30 years. He was a proud member of Operating Engineers, Local 478, Hamden, CT. Al was known as the "go to" guy in his trade.

Al loved interacting with everyone. Whether he was camping at one of his favorite campgrounds or playing a game of "stand up bingo", Al was a people person. He was a practical joker who loved his pranks and costumes enjoying the reactions of the people close to him and also complete strangers. In his later years he loved to take cruises and trips to the casino, always trying to one up the house. Al was always willing to begin a project, his own or someone who just needed a hand, he had to be kept busy and enjoyed helping others. He loved spending time in Menard May Park sitting by the water watching the passing boats and dolphins.  A dog lover, Al had many "adopted" canine friends which loved him mutually. They would come from all over the neighborhood to line up for his attention and treats he provided.

While Al's spirit has transitioned to a more peaceful place, he has given us many fond memories. Al loved life itself, and lived it to fullest extent possible. For all that knew him, the impressions he made on us will live in our hearts forever.
