Obituary

Alison Felter-McNulty of Leesburg, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 13th, 2025 after battling cancer. Born to Donna Cummings-Felter and Alan Felter on August 5th, 1964, Alison grew up in West Nyack, NY, and graduated from the St. Thomas Aquinas College for Education in Elementary Arts. Her career was dedicated to the world of books and ideas in her role at the Nanuet Public Library, which reflected her lifelong love of learning, quiet strength, community and thoughtfulness. In 1994 Alison married Edward McNulty Jr and they had a passion for fun and adventure. Alison was predeceased by Edward and their infant daughter Lucy Belle. Her and her second life-partner Joey Sparks kept their adventurous spirit by taking motorcycle rides often in the mountains and exploring, and later moved to Florida. Alison had a brilliant mind and a deep appreciation for the arts, finding joy in painting and the beauty of creative expression. A devoted fan of trivia, she especially loved the kinds of questions that left others stumped– often answering them with a wry smile and sharp insight. Her dry humor, broad knowledge, and calm presence made her both a treasured teammate and a beloved friend. Alison was also known to be steadfast in her unbelievably kind personality and consideration for others throughout her battle, and is strongly missed by those close to her. Alison is additionally pre-deceased by her parents Alan and Donna Felter. She is survived by her life-partner of 18 years Joey Sparks of Leesburg, FL; sister Jill Felter-Krist and brother-in law Michael of Nanuet NY; niece Jaclyn Krist of The Villages, FL; sisters in-law Linda Canavan of Saddle River, NJ and Eileen O'Malley and husband Martin of Ridgewood, NJ; nephew Peter J. Canavan and wife Caryn of Wayne, NJ; and countless friends.
