Obituary for Alphanso Cameron

Alphanso Cameron was born to Ethilda and Zachariah Cameron on May 5, 1930 in a district call Bunkers Hill in Trelawny, Jamaica. He was the eldest of their four children, three (3) boys and one (1) girl.  Alphanso was always an ambitious and hardworking young man and as soon as he could he left the farming community and relocated to Kingston where he found a job with the Public Works Department.

It was during this time that he met and fell in love with Florence Cameron and married her in 1957. The union produced four (4) children, two boys and two girls. Being as ambitious as ever, Alphanso wanted to provide a better life for his family, he decided to migrate to the United States, and he did so in 1972.  There he found work as a Security Guard for Max Robert Security Company.  Soon after the children were able to join their parents.

By 1994 Alphanso had grown tired of the cold in New York and decided to relocate to Florida and settled in Winter Haven.  He found work as a Labourer.  By 2008, he realized he was losing his sight and found out he had Glaucoma.  This was very devastating for him as he was a very independent man.  However, that did not stop him from working until he completely lost his sight.  He was admitted to the Courtyard of Orlando Nursing Home where he lived for several years until his sudden death on October 20, 2020.

Alphanso is survived by wife Florence Cameron, daughter , Sandra Johnson, grandchildren , Leroy, Nicole, Claudette, Leighton, Nia and Farrah.

great grandchildren, Deniece, Dajean, Unique, Amir, Jayden, Mason, Tristan and a host of other relatives and friends.
