Obituary

Amy Price Compton, 45, of Sanford, FL, entered into the Light of God on Monday, January 20th 2014, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Amy was born on July 22, 1968, in Orlando, FL, to Robert and Jan Price. She grew up in College Park, attended the local schools, and graduated from Edgewater High in 1986. Her career fulfilled her long-time interest in dentistry as she worked for Doctors Chase and Horvat in Winter Park for over 13 years before devoting her time to motherhood. She is survived by her adoring husband, Richard, precious daughter Peyton, Mother Jan McGrath, Brother Cory Price and fiancée Natalie, Grandmother Ruth Sharpe, and cherished dogs Chipper and Anna.   Amy also adored her extended family to include: Stepsons Ryan, Matthew, and Jordan Compton; sister-in-law Tammy Vartenisian;;  Nephews Connor and Jared Price (Germany); Nieces Bellah, Trinity, Stephanie, and Alexis; Aunts Joye Williamson (Huntsville, AL), Jill Anderson, (Beaverton, OR), Betty Castle, Faye Patrick (Flatwoods, KY), Judy Tabor (Rock Hill, SC), Sarah Hallman (Columbia, SC); Uncles Franklin and Robert  Jan Sharpe (Columbia, SC); as well as many wonderful cousins, and legions of friends who danced with her through life.  Amy was preceded in death by her beloved father, Robert Price. Amy's greatest attribute was her ability to love and forgive unconditionally. Her home and heart were always open to friends and family, with Amy making little distinction between the two.  She was passionate about her family and friends, the beach, animals, children of all ages, Mexican food, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Peyton Manning. Amy felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was giving birth to her amazing daughter, Peyton. Please join us for a memorial celebration of Amy's life on Saturday, January 25, 2014, 2:00 PM, at The Crossroads Baptist Church Fern Park on 414 Ridge Road in Fern Park. As a result of Amy's long fight with cancer, her family accumulated a large amount of medical bills.  For this reason, Amy asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made towards her medical expenses at https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/yxh3/amy-compton-s-ovarian-cancer-fund.
