IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrew J.
(Andy) Coppola
June 12, 1937 – July 9, 2025
Andrew J. Coppola (Andy), 88, of The Villages, Florida, unexpectedly went home to the Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, with family by his side. Born on June 12, 1937, Andy was the son of the late Joseph and Fernanda Coppola. He was the beloved brother of Julia Rivellese, Josephine D'Antonio, the late Marie Adocchio and Rosann Rivellese. He shared 65 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, building a life rooted in love, family, and faith.
He graduated from Manual Training High School, where he met his wife, Marie. They later settled on Garfield Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn: a block they cherished for its sense of community and warmth. Andy and Marie eventually moved to Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, where they raised their two children, Joseph and Andrew Jr.
Andy began his career in sales in Manhattan, selling major appliances, before transitioning into the wine and spirits industry. Over the years, he held several management-level sales positions across the tri-state area, concluding his professional journey in the ball bearing industry. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Andy acquired two family-run food businesses specializing in pizza and traditional Italian dishes, managing them with heartfelt commitment alongside his family. His energy and dedication were evident in every venture he undertook.
Mr. Coppola honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Years later, at the retirement community he shared with his wife, he found pride and camaraderie in reconnecting with a fellow Reservist and making new friends alike.
He enjoyed cheering on the Brooklyn Dodgers, the New York Mets, and other New York sports teams. A talented ballplayer in his youth, Andy later became a devoted Little League manager, sharing his love of the game by mentoring young players. In 1978, he led a Ronkonkoma Little League team to the New York State semi-regional finals in the Little League World Series. He found joy in professional connections, lifelong and new friendships, and above all, time shared with his family.
Though Andy's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forward his legacy of love, loyalty and connection. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marie – his partner in every chapter of life, their sons, Joseph and Andrew Jr., and his sisters, Julia and Josephine. Andy was a kind and compassionate man, a devoted husband and father, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A Memorial/Celebration of Life service is being planned, with full details forthcoming.
