Anna Crimi passed away April 21, 2024 at the age of 96 at Hospice center in Edgewater, FL. Anna was born August 30.1927 in Bronx, New York to Italian born parents Salvatore Pistacchio from Campolattaro, Benevento, Campania, Italy and Filomena Nazzaro from Avellino, Campania, Italy on August 30,1927. Anna's childhood in the Bronx was filled with lots of family and amazing stories. She was trained as a seamstress in vocational High School but her dream was to become a secretary so she put herself through business school and became a secretary for the Texaco Oil Company in the Chrysler Building. She married her partner in life Thomas Crimi on September 24 th 1950 where they moved to New Jersey and where she had her three sons. She also lived in Florida, Tennessee and then moved back to Florida. Her last residence was at Wickshire assisted living facility in Port Orange for almost 5 years.
She worked at different jobs to help support the family. Her favorite job was working with elementary children in West Palm Beach as a teacher assistant, where she used her mothering skills to keep her students in line by shaking her finger at them to get her point across. Her favorite holiday was Easter, where she would bring out all her fancy dishes and glasses and cook some Italian favorite dishes. She was also noted for her cheesecake that she cooked every Christmas. Whenever the family held a gathering, she would always break out in song and dance to her favorite Italian songs. Anna will be missed by all who knew her.
Anna is survived by sister Eve Grippaldi, sons Louis, Thomas, and Dennis, daughter in law Joann, grandchildren Daniel, Franklyn, Sarah, Nicholas, Melinda, Kayla and Michael and great grandchildren Layla, Kierstyn, Ryder, Carter, Hailee, and Brian. Anna was preceded in death by her twin sister Antoinette Pistacchio, husband Thomas, and daughter in law Sandra Crimi.
A mass will be held 8:30 AM on Friday, May 24th at the Our Lady of Hope Church, 4675 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange. The mass will be televised on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/@ourladyofhopecatholicchurc9807/videos
and facebook at https://www.facebook.com/OLOHPortOrange/videos . In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to American Lung Association . Anna will be interred with her husband at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida at a later date.
