Ann Werkheiser Mearkle, 92 of DeLand, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7th2020. She grew up in Lansdowne, PA and as a child enjoyed her time in the summer at Cape May, NJ. Ann will be remembered for her joyful and playful spirit and sense of humor. She loved all sports especially, tennis, golf and riding the ocean waves. She loved playing cards, feeding the birds and gardening. Ann was born to the late Myron and Gertrude Werkheiser in Oakmont, PA. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Richard Wekheiser and sister, Jane Gundel. Ann is survived by the love of her life for 70 years, Cliff Mearkle; 2 daughters, Donna (Bob) Twilley, Debbie Mearkle Bouges, 5 grandsons, 2 step-granddaughters and 9 great grandchildren and cousin Cliff (Carla) Frasch. Due to the Pandemic a memorial celebration of her life will be at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ann's name may be made to, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 319 W. Wisconsin Ave., DeLand, FL 32720.
