IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna Belle
Miller-Swanton
May 8, 1948 – March 19, 2026
Miller Swanton, Anna Belle, age 77 of Mount Dora, FL, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving husband of 48 years, Bill, her son Stephen, and her beloved dog, Missy.
Born on May 8, 1948, in Dayton, OH, she was the daughter of Wallace and Margaret Miller. As an “Army Brat,” Belle was educated throughout the United States and Germany. She eventually settled in Cincinnati, OH, where she was employed by ADP, and later worked with the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, Q102, and Fairmont Communications.
On December 25, 1977, Belle married William Swanton at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, joined in ceremony by a Catholic priest from the Newman Center at Miami University.
She is survived by her husband, William Swanton; her son, Stephen Swanton; and her daughter-in-law, Robin Seila. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Catherine Swanton (Lorin Beehler), Sheila Stang (Roger), and Joan Valerius (Dan, deceased); brothers-in-law Art Swanton (Juanita), Michael Swanton (Allison), and Jim Swanton (Paula, Jim deceased); and her cousin, Jennerfer Mockbee (Steve).
She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, including Jennifer Sherwood (Woody) and their children Gabrielle Mace (Court) and Sydney; Carolyn Spivock and her children Brendan and Nicholas; Cynthia Bennes (Mauricio) and their children Santiago, Camila, and Valentina; Brian Stang (Meredith) and their children Dylan and Ainsley; as well as Tim Valerius, Kevin Valerius, Toria Valerius, Kaitlin Swanton, Emily Swanton, Mia Swanton, and James Swanton.
Belle was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Margaret Miller; her brother, Robert Miller; her brothers-in-law Dan Valerius and James Swanton; and her aunts and uncles Ruth and Lou Hays, Gladys Heavenridge, Roberta and Bill Fye, and Virginia and Dale Piatt.
Belle enjoyed traveling, vacations, riding motorcycles, and riding in or driving Bill’s many sports cars. While she never quite took to the skies flying with Bill, she loved being outdoors in just about any kind of weather. As an Army Brat, she was always prepared to move and embraced the many relocations she and Bill experienced together, including Cincinnati, OH; Stillwater, MN; Danville, CA; Wildwood, MO; Elizabeth, CO; Sarasota, FL; and finally Mount Dora, FL, where they settled on the shores of Lake Dora.
She cherished the time when Stephen’s horse, “Holy Cow,” became part of the family. Belle enjoyed horseback riding and formed many lasting friendships at barns across MN, CA, MO, CO, and OH. She also loved supporting her family by driving or filming Bill and Stephen while they skied on Lake Cumberland, KY; the St. Croix River in Stillwater, MN; Lake Shasta, CA; and Lake of the Ozarks, MO.
An avid reader of romance novels, Belle’s greatest love was her son, Stephen. She fondly called him her “limited edition” and was incredibly proud of his accomplishments, both personally as a triathlete and professionally as a real estate agent in St. Croix, VI, alongside his wife, Robin, who is also a triathlete.
Family and friends are welcome to attend funeral services as details become available for a date in May around Belle’s birthday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Office of VITAS Healthcare, 6909 Old Highway 441, Suites 105 & 300, Mount Dora, FL 32757, or by calling 352-800-5101.
