Anthony Michael
Augello
Sep 4, 1987 — Jul 11, 2026
Anthony Michael "Tony" Augello, 38, of Orlando, Florida, entered into the presence of his Savior on July 11, 2026, in Vicenza, Italy.
Born on September 4, 1987, in Orlando, Tony lived with a natural curiosity about the world and a genuine love for people. He brought humor and generosity to the lives of those around him. He graduated from Edgewater High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Florida, where he proudly cheered on the Gators.
Tony faithfully served his country in the United States Army, ultimately achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Throughout his years of service, he earned the respect of those around him through his dedication, integrity, and quiet leadership. His distinguished service was recognized with numerous military honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
Following his military service, Tony spent four years working for CACI as a logistics professional supporting U.S. government operations in Italy. Through his intelligence, initiative, and unwavering work ethic, he developed an innovative tool and application that transformed daily operations and improved mission readiness. His contributions earned formal recognition from military leadership, a CACI performance bonus, and a nomination for the company's prestigious ELITE Innovation Award. Those closest to him at work remember that Tony was always the first to arrive each morning, a quiet reflection of the loyalty, reliability, and steadfast character that defined his life.
Tony was endlessly curious about the world around him and never seemed to lose his desire to learn something new. He found joy in traveling the world, immersing himself in history, discussing economics, and connecting with people from different cultures. Basketball was another lifelong passion, shared with his twin brother, Nick, from childhood through adulthood. Italy held a special place in his heart, and he appreciated life's simple pleasures: a good cigar, meaningful conversations, and the beauty of places rich with history.
Those who knew Tony will remember his quick wit and his love of a good pun. Even while describing the gondolas of Venice to his dad, he couldn't resist saying, "You're gondola-love it." More than anything, Tony’s character was what mattered most. He possessed a quiet gift for showing mercy, cared deeply for others, gave generously, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved twin brother, Nick. Together they were simply known as "the Augello twins," whose love for one another, loyalty, and friendship were admired by so many. Though they were distinct individuals, they complemented
each other perfectly, and the bond they shared remains one of the greatest gifts their family will always cherish.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Mike and Pam Augello; his sister, Christie Whitaker, and her husband, Michael Whitaker; his nephews, Lee and Tate Whitaker; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends around the world.
While our hearts grieve deeply and there are questions we cannot answer on this side of eternity, we find our hope in Jesus Christ and in the unchanging promises of God's Word. As Romans 8:38-39 reminds us, nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 4917 Eli Street, Orlando, FL 32804. A reception will follow, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Tony’s life together.
