Obituary

Anthony was born August , 1964, a proud son of Brooklyn, New York, passed away surrounded by the love of the family who meant everything to him. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Anthony carried the spirit and grit of New York with him throughout his life. In the 1980s, he made Florida his home, eventually settling in Fort Myers, where he spent his remaining years.

Anthony was a devoted father whose greatest pride was his children with whom he shared with his former wife Petronilla (Cordaro) Borge. He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Francesca Borge, Katherine Borge-Citera and Joanna Borge. He found immeasurable joy in being “Nonno” and cherished every moment with his grandchildren: Rosaleigh Shinault, William Rosales, Lorenzo Borge-Citera, Gianni Flores, Giulianna Flores, and Graciella Flores. His love for his children and grandchildren was unwavering, and they remained the center of his world.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Anthony Borge; his mother, Barbara Carnazza; and survived by his stepfather, Salvatora Carnazza.

He is also survived by his loving sisters, Katherine Borge Van Dyk, Antonina Carnazza, and Nicole Carnazza; his brother, Salvatore Carnazza; his nieces, Angelina Borge and Katelynn Van Dyk; and his nephew, Robert Anthony, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Anyone who knew Anthony knew he possessed a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor. His sarcasm was legendary, often arriving with a grin that let everyone know he was joking—even if it took them a minute to catch on. He had a way of making people laugh, lightening the mood, and leaving lasting memories through his unique personality.

Though life brought its share of challenges, Anthony's greatest legacy will always be the love he had for his family. Anthony's memory will live on through the countless stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort knowing that his spirit remains with them—in every shared laugh, every treasured memory, and every reminder of the love that binds them together.

"Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the hearts they touched and the lives they helped shape."
