Anthony Charles
Gosdeck
Oct 31, 1942 — Aug 13, 2026
Glen Mills, PA
Anthony Charles Gosdeck, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at Buffalo Crossings Healthcare and Rehabilitation in The Villages, Florida. Tony was born on October 31, 1942, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He graduated from MMI Preparatory School in Freeland, Pennsylvania, in 1960 and The McCann School of Business in 1964 where he met his soulmate, Marilyn. On Sep 11, 1965 they married and the two began their life together in Arlington, Virginia. Tony went on to enjoy a 25-year career working in The Department of Defense at The Pentagon in Washington, D.C.. Tony and Marilyn moved from Alexandria, Virginia, to Ocean City, Maryland, where they spent several happy years before finding their retirement dream in Florida. They loved their years in both Naples and The Villages, where they built many wonderful friendships. One of their favorite pastimes was exploring local restaurants and enjoying good food and great conversation with the many friends they made along the way. Tony grew up in his mother’s restaurant, where he developed his lifelong love of people, conversation, humor, and a good story. He was naturally social, always ready with a joke, and rarely sat still. He loved being active and much preferred playing basketball, tennis, and softball to simply watching from the sidelines. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2021, Tony faced the challenges of the disease with the same spirit that had defined his life. His family will be forever grateful for the love and support of his extended family in The Villages, especially Justin, Von, Betina, and the many others at My Brother’s Keeper. Their friendship and care allowed Tony to continue enjoying many of the activities and experiences that brought him happiness.
A stroke in 2024 left Tony incapacitated but thanks to his caregivers, especially Asniel, and the compassionate and dedicated staff at Buffalo Crossings, Tony continued to experience moments of joy and connection. Tony was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marilyn Jean Davis Gosdeck, and his parents, Anthony Paul Gosdeck and Violet Casper Skernolis. Tony will be remembered for his outgoing personality, quick sense of humor, love of conversation, passion for sports and cars, and, most of all, the friendships he made throughout his life. He had a way of making people feel welcome and leaving them with a smile. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date. He will be laid to rest alongside his beloved mother.
