Obituary

Antonio (Tony) Santo Barreca lived in Florida throughout his lifetime. He was born on May 11, 1935, in Miami to parents Antonino (Anthony) Barreca and Vincenza (Jennie) Cimino Barreca. He lived with his parents and younger brother Frank throughout his childhood. He also had two older siblings, MaryAnn and Bob. During his childhood he enjoyed scouting and playing the trumpet. He was very proud of his education. He completed High School and graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1953. He also completed some college at The University of Florida in Gainesville.

He served his country in The Naval Air Reserve. He received an Honorable Discharge from The Armed Forces of the United States of America in 1961.

He had a number of careers during his lifetime and was fortunate to have careers that he was passionate about. One of his notable careers was in the field of Photography, namely Photo Finishing. He also worked in the field of Aviation. This provided him with the opportunity to work at airports with the ground operations of airplanes. He enjoyed both careers immensely.

He met Jacqueline Ruth Clifford in the neighborhood of his Miami home. They married on August 10, 1956. They celebrated 69 years of marriage. They had four children: Clifford, Pamela, Todd, and Charles (Chuck). They also have two daughters-in-law, Betty Ann Barreca and Mary Barreca. They have seven grandchildren: Katrina, Cara, Corby, Todd (T.J.), Jena, Zachary, and Kyle. They also have two grandsons-in-law, John Mansour and Brandon Erickson, and one granddaughter-in-law, Emma Barreca. They have three great-grandchildren: Hudson Erickson, Reece Barreca, and Chase Barreca.

His hobbies included photography, music, boating, and aviation. He was an accomplished and published photographer. He also enjoyed playing the trumpet and singing in the church choir. In addition, he enjoyed aviation and successfully completed his solo flight. Another hobby of his was boating. He was an avid boat owner and enjoyed time on the water. Even though he was passionate about his hobbies, he most enjoyed spending time with his large family and many friends.

He was a principled Christian man who loved his God, country, family, and friends. He died on January 11, 2026, in Ocala. His ninety years were meaningful and well-lived. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Timber Ridge Community Church of Ocala, 10260 SW 110th Street, Dunnellon, FL 34432
