Obituary

The family of Armand Pilar Lopez, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, are saddened to announce his passing on July 22nd, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida, at the age of 63. Born on April 13th, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, Armand lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service to others.

Armand was the cherished son of Pilar and Theresa Lopez. He was proud to call Joliet, Illinois home during his formative years. Soon after, he joined the United States Army, serving with honor until 1984. His military service shaped his character and instilled a deep sense of duty that would serve him well throughout his life. Following his honorable service in the U.S. Army, Armand built a dedicated career as a talented chef in Joliet, Illinois, Fort Myers, Florida, and Sheboygan, Wisconsin. His professional life was characterized by dedication, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.

Armand was a man of many passions who loved sharing his culinary talents with friends and family. Armand is survived by his loving children: Elise Aceves and her husband Ricardo, Lydia Lopez and her significant other Isaac, and Jacob Lopez. He was the proud grandfather of Aryana, Damian, Alexander, and Ezra. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Theresa Lopez, and step-father, Oscar Lopez; his sister, Adriana Lopez; his brother, Arthur Lopez and his nephews, David, Tyler, Steven, and Jared.

Outside of his time in the kitchen as a dedicated chef, Armand's social life was filled with deep camaraderie and strong connections. He leaves behind his dear friend and companion, Lynne Grall, along with a close-knit circle of local friends, former military colleagues, and restaurant teammates who will fondly remember his spirit, his stories, and his exceptional cooking.

Armand is now reunited in eternal rest with his father Pilar Lopez, his sister, Amanda Clute, and his beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins who went before him.

A celebration of life will be held at Stevie B Waterfront Cafe at 2015 West First Street in Fort Myers Florida on August 16th from 1pm to 3pm.
