Arnold "Mickey"
McCrillis Jr.
April 21, 1942 – April 21, 2026
Arnold “Mickey” McCrillis Jr. passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, his birthday, marking the close of a life lived with integrity, devotion, and quiet strength.
Known affectionately as Mickey, he was respected and admired by all who knew him. He conducted himself with dignity and kindness and was devoted to his family and to those entrusted to his care. His steady presence, thoughtful manner, and strong sense of responsibility left a lasting impression on friends and acquaintances alike.
Mickey valued sincerity, loyalty, and meaningful personal connections. He lived quietly by example, offering guidance and support without seeking recognition, and will be remembered for the genuine concern he showed for others throughout his life. He enjoyed life and laughter.
Mickey was born in Rochester, NH. During his twenties, he traveled extensively throughout Europe, an experience that, along with meeting his wife Connie, marked some of the most rewarding years of his life. He later settled in Anaheim, California, and began his professional journey as Concession Director for Angel Stadium. Mickey went on to work at various stadiums, including those with the Vikings in Minnesota, PNC Park in Pennsylvania, and Tampa, Florida. Although he aspired to return to Maine, he dedicated over 30 years to the Cumberland Civic Center in Portland, where he interacted with numerous rock stars and entertainers. He raised his family in Kennebunk, Maine. Upon retirement, he coordinated major sporting events across the United States, including Super Bowls, USTA Tennis Tournaments, the Masters, and others. In recent years, he was involved in real estate and served as President of multiple homeowner’s association organizations in Merritt Island, Florida. He ultimately settled in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed his retirement. He was an avid reader with a particular appreciation for Carl Hiassen and several other authors, and valued spending time with his grandson.
Arnold “Mickey” McCrillis is survived by his son, Casey McCrillis of Augusta, Maine; his grandson, Gregory McDaniels and Gregory’s partner, Alexandria Monet Oliver of Kennebunk, Maine; his sister, Dr. Fran Rancourt, along with Paul Chandler; his sisters-in-law, Suzanne McCrillis and Rosa McCrillis. He is also remembered by many nephews, nieces, and long-standing friends, among them Vicki Beaumont and his Florida pal Hedy Cirrincione, who honored his memory with sincere respect and affection.
He was predeceased by parents Lorraine Marie Gallant and Arnold McCrillis Sr. and his former wife, Connie Ferguson; his daughter, Leah McDaniels; and his brothers, Robert A. McCrillis of Kennebunkport, Maine and Daytona Beach, Florida, and Richard McCrillis of Marietta, Georgia.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
