Obituary

Arthur Augustus “Art” Bond III, age 81, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Born on May 1, 1944, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Art lived a life filled with laughter, love, and meaningful connections with family and friends.

Art earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Salem University and built a successful career in sales within the automotive robotic systems industry. His outgoing personality and natural ability to connect with others made him highly respected both professionally and personally. Being in sales suited Art perfectly, as he truly loved entertaining people and making those around him smile.

A devoted family man, Art cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Bond, whom he married on January 31, 1992. He is also survived by his son, Skip Bond and wife Tracy of Westminster, Colorado, along with their son Nolan and daughter Samantha; daughter Lauren Reiser and husband John of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, along with their daughters Maddie and Olivia; and son Mike Bond of York, Pennsylvania, along with his daughter Ansley. Art is also survived by his brother, Clark Bond and wife Pat of Millsboro, Delaware; brother-in-law Tom Ready and wife Carol of The Villages, Florida; as well as many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur A. Bond, Sr. and Charlotte Bond.

Art was passionate about golf and especially enjoyed buying golf equipment and spending time on the course. He was also a devoted Alabama football fan and remained actively involved in his community, serving on the Board of Directors at two golf clubs over the years.

Those who knew Art will remember him as a true jokester with a warm personality and a gift for making people laugh. His kindness, humor, and love for his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. A reception will follow at Colony Cottage.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Art’s memory.
