Obituary

Arthur Lincoln Turner, Jr., known by friends and family as Buzz, passed away after his evening cookies and coffee on Sunday, July 6. Buzz, born in Brookline, Mass on July 10, 1925, passed four days shy of his 100th birthday.

Buzz spent most of his life in Connecticut before moving to Florida with his wife Cookie in 1994. Buzz was an avid boater and fisherman, had a deep connection to the outdoors and his garden, and was devoted to his family. Buzz served his community in the volunteer fire department and ambulance service for decades and was named a "Hero of Deep River (Connecticut)" in celebration of his community service.

Buzz is preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Raab (Cookie), of more than 60 years, and ten siblings. He is survived by five children: Thomas Turner (and Dawn Turner), Sharon Geis (and Arthur Geis), Nanci Balassone (and Mike Balassone), Jayne Battey (and Mark Battey), and Robert (Toby) Turner. He also leaves eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren to carry on his legacy.

A family gathering was held on July 10, 2025, on Buzz's 100th birthday, to celebrate his life and honor his love and wisdom. To honor his memory, the family requests that donations of any amount be made in his name to any community service organization of your choosing.

"Helping others in time of need, is its own reward-indeed." Arthur Lincoln Turner.
