Milcent, Jr.
September 9, 1934 – April 2, 2023
Arthur Milcent Jr., age 88, went to his heavenly home on April 2,2023 at Halifax Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, Florida. Arthur was born in New York City, New York on September 9, 1934. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Milcent Sr, his mother Dorothy Kiel, and stepfather John Caparelli and Grandmother Jean Kiel. Arthur graduated from high school in Ridgefield New Jersey in 1954 and then served his country in the United States Air Force, where he trained and served as a dental technician. He was stationed at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming where he met his beloved wife Twila (nee' Prall) which he is survived by. Art and Twila were then married in December of 1956 in Ridgefield, New Jersey.
Arthur was an accomplished marksman and skeet shooter and instructor He was one of the original founding members of the Volusia County Skeet and Trap Club, with his membership card bearing the membership number as "1". He participated in his favorite sport up until 2022. He also participated in several other sports such as motorcycling, particularly dirt bike racing and amateur sports car racing with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).
Arthur worked as a television technician at his own TV sales and repair shop in Flagler Beach, Florida helping start two cable TV companies, Palm Coast Cable Company and Flagler Cable Company. He and his company also had done the original wiring for cable TV in many of the condominium towers on the beachside in Ormond and Daytona Beach that are still in existence today. Later he became a technician and audio/visual specialist at Daytona Beach Community College (now Daytona State College) and for the TV station at the college, WDSC-TV Channel 15 until he retired.
He is survived, as afore mentioned by his beloved wife, Twila Prall Milcent, his son, Russell Milcent and daughter in law, Nicki Green-Milcent, Granddaughter, Andrea Milcent and her life partner Chris Aufricht, and great granddaughter, Carlyn Aufricht, and grandson Benjamin Milcent and his life partner Shaun Healy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 22 at Daytona Christian Church, 1135 6th Street Daytona Beach, Florida 32117. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Halifax Humane Society .
