Some people simply exist in the world, while others leave an unmistakable mark on every life they touch. Asbury Adler Minus was one of those rare individuals. He possessed a vibrant spirit, an infectious smile, and a gift for making every room feel a little brighter. He loved deeply, laughed wholeheartedly, and believed that life was meant to be lived to its fullest. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying good company, Asbury had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome.

Asbury Adler Minus was born in Nassau, Bahamas, on August 8, 1970, to Adler and Willamae Minus. As the firstborn son of their union, he naturally embraced the role of a leader. As a young boy, he possessed an adventurous spirit and an endless curiosity. He loved being outdoors and could often be found watching Kung Fu movies—much to the detriment of the walls in his room. Mischievous, daring, and competitive, Asbury kept his siblings on their toes. But don't let his role as the eldest fool you—he wasn't above leading them into a little harmless trouble.

After completing his education in The Bahamas, Asbury began his professional journey as a bartender at the British Colonial Hilton. It suited him perfectly. More than mixing drinks, Asbury had a genuine love for people. He never met a stranger and possessed an extraordinary gift for conversation.

It was there that fate introduced him to a young woman who would forever change his life. From their union, Asbury embraced one of the greatest blessings he would ever know—fatherhood. He became the proud father of his devoted daughter, Ashley.

Following his time at the British Colonial Hilton, Asbury joined his father's company, Adler Construction. There, he honed the skills that became the foundation of his career. Working alongside his father sharpened his craftsmanship and nurtured the entrepreneurial spirit that would later define his life's work.

Determined to continue growing, Asbury eventually crossed international waters and made his home in the United States of America. Never one to shy away from hard work or new challenges, he furthered his education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Central Florida, along with several professional certifications. Through perseverance, discipline, and an unwavering work ethic, he established himself within the engineering and construction industry.

During this chapter of his life, Asbury experienced the joy of fatherhood once again with the birth of his second daughter, Brianna. Becoming a father for the second time was another blessing he cherished, and he carried the same pride, love, and devotion into both of his daughters' lives.

Though he found success working for private companies, Asbury's independent spirit continually called him. Inspired by the example set by his father and driven by his own entrepreneurial vision, he founded Altec Inc., a company that became the umbrella for his many business ventures. To Asbury, success was never measured solely by what he built, but by the opportunities he created and the people he helped along the way.

Asbury approached life with confidence, resilience, and unwavering determination. Challenges never intimidated him. Those who knew him admired not only his work ethic, but also his generosity, wisdom, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.

Outside of work, Asbury found his greatest happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending his days fishing, discovering great restaurants, relaxing by the water, and enjoying the rhythm of live reggae music. He treasured time with family and friends, and no title brought him greater pride than being "GP," the name lovingly given to him by his grandsons, Ashton and Xander.

That is how we hope to remember him—not with sadness, but with gratitude for the life he lived and the joy he shared so freely. Think of his laughter and the stories that left everyone smiling. Picture him where he was happiest—with the sun on his face, the ocean nearby, and surrounded by those he loved.

Asbury is lovingly survived by his mother, Willamae Minus; his daughters, Ashley Minus and Brianna Armstrong; his beloved grandsons, Xander Rodriguez and Ashton Rio; his siblings; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family; and a host of cherished friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.

The family extends its deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to every physician, nurse, therapist, caregiver, and member of the medical staff who cared for Asbury throughout his journey. Your compassion, dedication, and kindness brought comfort not only to him but also to those who loved him.

We are equally grateful to every family member and friend who visited, called, prayed, sent messages, offered words of encouragement, or simply took the time to let Asbury know he was loved. Although not every message could be answered, please know that he saw them all. Each prayer, each visit, each phone call, and every expression of kindness became a source of strength that carried him through each day. Your love surrounded him, uplifted him, and reminded him that he never walked this journey alone.

May we honor his memory by loving generously, living boldly, laughing often, and finding peace in life's simple joys.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on July 9, 2026 at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home's Tyrone Chapel. The family will receive visitors the evening prior from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
