Ashley Nicolette DeLong, 42, of Tampa, FL, beloved daughter of James R. DeLong and Janet L Knight (DeLong), passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 due to illness, surrounded by loved ones.

Ashley brought light and warmth to those around her from the very beginning. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Aubrey Geiger; mother, Janet L Knight; grandparents, Jim and Janice DeLong (Alabama), and Ruth Knight (Florida); brother, James A. DeLong; loved aunts, Mary Blaisdell (Florida) and Renee DeLong (Illinois); nieces, Mariah, Elaina, and Nora DeLong; along with numerous loved cousins and long time friends. She is in reunion in Heaven with her father, James; grandmother, Wanda DeLong; grandfather, C.W. Knight; stepfather, Micheal Ferrier; cousin, Lindsey (Blaisdell) Dolci; and her uncles, Mike DeLong and Charles Blaisdell.

She was a woman of many interests and deep compassion. Ashley found joy in painting, drawing, music, laughing, and aggravating (humorously). She cherished time spent with her daughter and family whom she dearly loved and was known for rescuing animals whenever she could. From a young age, she had a heart for creatures in need; it was not uncommon for her to bring home strays. Her love for animals remained a constant throughout her life. Ashley also had a generous and compassionate soul when it came to people. Though she struggled at times herself, she was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need and found peace in simple pleasures. Her bright personality and charismatic witty nature made her a joy to be around—someone who could lift spirits with ease.

After graduating high school, she pursued her passion for beauty and creativity by attending cosmetology school, allowing her to share her talents with others through her craft. Raised in a Christian household surrounded by the love of Jesus Christ, Ashley was saved and baptized, and her faith remained an important part of who she was. She carried strong values rooted in kindness, compassion, and service. In honor of Ashley's lifelong love for animals and in lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to the local Animal Rescues or Humane Society of Tampa Bay. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 26, 2026, from 1PM visitation and 2PM service at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Florida.
