Attilio "John" Vegessi of New Smyrna Beach passed away peacefully after a brief illness September 17,2023.

He was predeceased by his wife Anne of 62 years. Also predeceased by his first granddaughter Serena Vegessi Schick, son in law John T. Faley and daughter in law Kathy Vegessi.

John was a truck driver for over 40 years with Perkins Trucking Company. He was kind and sweet and would do anything to help someone out. In his younger days he enjoyed  hunting, boating, fishing and vegetable gardening.

He is survived by his son Captain Michael Vegessi granddaughter Rebecca (Danny)Gagon and their kids His great grand children, Temperance and Kaliber. Also survived by his daughter Susan Vegessi Faley and her son John Vegessi Faley. His son Mark wife Leslie, their pets Roxy, Ginger And Ruby. Attilio also has 2 great grandsons, Vance Michael and Hunter Attilio, many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors at Bouchelle Island.

For the past 8years he was lucky to enjoy time with the second love of his life, Barbara. They were so happy together and took such  good care of each. Thank You Barbara.

At A later date to be determined his ashes will be spread out over the Atlantic ocean in front of Montauk Point Lighthouse off of Captain Mike's boat Lazybones.

You were loved and will Be missed by many. Rest in Peace.
