Barbara J. Griffin (82) of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away in the presence of her daughters Nicole, Lynne and her husband Robert on March 26th, 2025.

Barbara was born on October 4th, 1942, in Lowell, Massachusetts to Vernon and Winifred Davies.  Her father was killed in WWII, and she never had the pleasure to know him.  Barbara graduated from Lowell Secretarial School with an AA degree and had an exemplary career.  Upon graduation her first job was at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts as secretary to the director of the Lunar Research Project.  As her career progressed, she went to work for the Raytheon Corporation in Wayland, Massachusetts on classified projects under the Cobra Dane project.

She met her husband Robert in April of 1975, and they were married in December of 1975.  Robert's job took them to Virginia, Maryland, and then overseas to England, Liberia, Portugal, Chad, Italy and Germany with his retirement in 1998. After retirement they moved from Maryland to Florida in 2003.

While in Liberia, Barbara was the program director for the closed-circuit Embassy TV network and while in Portugal was the secretary for the Regional Security Officer. Never one to sit by idly, on returning to the United States after settling in Maryland she became the director for the Anne Arundel County after school program at Bodkin Elementary.

Barbara is survived by her husband Robert, her children Susan (Robert), Lynne (Jennifer), Nicole (Arthur) and Robert John (Desiree).  She was very proud of and adored her grandchildren Robbie, Autumn, Alexandra, Michael, Matthew, Shawn and her great grandchildren Blake and Bailee.

She will be missed by all but especially her dog Daisey and cat Flower.

Services for Barbara are private at the request of the family.  Donations may be made to the Halifax Humane Society of Daytona Beach, Florida.
