Barbara Catherine Jedziniak (known as Cathy) was born on March 5, 1953, in Winter Haven, Florida, and passed away on July 10, 2026, in Umatilla, Florida, surrounded by loved ones. She was married to David for over 54 years; their first date was prom. They were married in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1971. Her maiden name was Cauley. Cathy was a graduate of Winter Haven High School and continued her education at Polk County Community College and Lake Sumter Community College.

Together with her husband, she owned six Golden Corral restaurants. They were recognized by Golden Corral for operating the top-performing location in the chain and earned a two-week trip to any destination of their choice. Cathy was a talented artist and seamstress, creating hundreds of paintings and designing and tailoring wedding dresses for her daughter and daughter-in-law.

She enjoyed traveling in their RV, often embarking on multi-week trips. She especially appreciated the fall foliage and driving along the coast of Maine. Her favorite trip was visiting the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Cathy loved hosting princess tea parties with her grandchildren and extended family. She cherished the flowers and vegetables her husband cultivated for her. She was also a new chicken momma, caring for 15 Silkie hens and encouraging her daughter to hatch an additional 10 chicks.

A devoted family member, Cathy was their proudest supporter and a kind-hearted peacemaker. Her loving and caring nature was evident in her interactions, and she was known for her quick forgiveness. She faced significant health challenges with resilience, repeatedly fighting illness until her body could no longer continue.

Cathy was a member of the First Church of God in Eustis and the First Baptist Church of Umatilla, and she deeply loved the Lord.

She is survived by her spouse, David A. Jedziniak of Umatilla; her son, David J. Jedziniak (Susan) of York, Pennsylvania; her daughter, April Jedziniak Barber (Dan) of Umatilla; her son, Timothy Jedziniak (Shelly) of Umatilla; her brother, Edgar L. Cauley Jr. of Valrico, Florida; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eugenia “Jean” Owens, and her father, Edgar L. Cauley, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, Cathy requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
