Barbara LoFrisco, 86, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully on her birthday, September 6, 2026.

Barbara was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph LoFrisco and Margrette Schiro. She lived a full and meaningful life, creating countless memories and forming friendships that lasted through the years. She was a woman of strength, kindness, generosity, and faith, but above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Barbara is survived by her siblings, Loretta “Lori” Fenwick, Josephine “Jay” Olivett, Margret “Peggy” Pieruzzi, and Leonardo “Lee” LoFrisco; and her children, Craig Kaufman ( Vikki), Sheryl Hansbury (Wayne), Andrew “Drew” Hoffman ( Jennifer), and George “Judd” Bush Jr. She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and the great-grandmother of 22 great-grandchildren, with one great-great-granddaughter expected in February 2027.

Family was at the heart of Barbara’s life. She treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took great joy in watching her family grow. Some of her happiest memories were made during family trips to Lake George and visits to local theme parks with her grandchildren. She loved making memories with the people who meant the most to her, and those memories will continue to live on in the generations she leaves behind.

Barbara had many interests throughout her life. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, and swimming. She had a love for baking and she always baked at the Christmas holiday. Her favorite was her Italian cookies, which is how she got her nick name. Everybody used to come by and always pick at the dough and she would yell at you to wait til they are cooked. She was blessed with many wonderful friendships throughout the years, both in New York and Florida. These friendships became an important part of her life, and she will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara was lovingly known by many as “Bobbie” and “Cookie,” but there was one name that held a special place in her heart—Gram. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was so much more than a grandmother. She was a familiar face, a source of love, a keeper of memories, and someone whose presence made family feel like home.

Barbara’s life was not measured only by the years she lived, but by the love she gave, the friendships she made, and the memories she created along the way. She leaves behind a family who will carry her love with them and countless people whose lives were made better simply because she was a part of them.

Though she is no longer here with us, her love will remain—in the stories we tell, the memories we share, and most of all, in the family she loved so deeply.

Barbara will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in Clearwater, Florida. Details will be announced at a later date.
