Barbara Mae Ware, Melton, Flynn, Mann December 28, 1928 – November 28, 2022 Resided in The Villages, FL, lived in Moncks Corner and Ravenel, SC Born in Portland, ME and raised in Bangor, ME, Graduated with Honors from Bangor High. She was awarded the French Medal for highest rank in her class for three years. She graduated in 1949 from Nursing School at Eastern Maine General Hospital, as a Registered Nurse. As a registered nurse she worked the east coast from Maine to SC, where for many years was a Head Nurse at the Old Saint Francis and Old Roper Hospital. She is survived by son, Robert Melton, II of Houston, TX, daughter, Patricia McNeill, (Steve Watson), of The Villages, FL., grandson, Edsel McNeill, III (Trae), of Columbia, SC., stepdaughter, Carol Davis, of Charleston, SC, two nephews, a niece, one great-niece and her family. She is preceded by her parents, George and Minnie Ware, a sister (husband), a brother, a son, Stephen G Melton, and widowed to Marland E. Flynn and Malvin W. Mann. She was Co-owner of Berkeley Office Supplies and Discount Printing Inc. of Goose Creek, SC She belonged to The United Methodist Church of Goose Creek, SC. Her passion was the American Legion Auxiliary 166, Goose Creek, SC and held several offices. She was very active in Cabana 1067 (40&8th) and was a past La President and present La Avocet. She belonged to Grande Cabana (State) and was a past President and present La Grande Avocet. She has been a La Grande Cheminot and Aide to Lynn, VFW Aux 10256, Aux to MUC, KY Col, Nurses Associate Alumni, and Grinders Club. She was very active in politics. La Femme Service will be held January 8th from 3 to 6 pm at the American Legion Post 166, 116 Howe Hall Rd, Goose Creek, SC. Memorials may be made to the SPCA, Pet Helpers and Cancer Society Private burial at Whispering Pines joining with Malvin Mann.
