Barbara Osgood passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2026. To her family of origin, she was lovingly known as Kay.

Barbara was a sweet, independent, and generous woman with a stubborn streak and a genuine curiosity about the world around her. She loved to travel and had an adventurous spirit, especially when she was younger. She and her lifelong best friend, Donna Lunati, met while working at Donna’s father’s travel agency and remained close friends for decades. Together, they traveled and shared many adventures, including cruises later in life.

Some of Barbara’s favorite things were oldies and beach music, purple, collecting frogs, and spending time with friends at The Center in Orlando, where she enjoyed playing Mexican dominoes. Her Christian faith was also an important part of her life.

Barbara had a way of making people feel at home. She became well known among her daughter Glee’s friends as a sleepover host extraordinaire, making special foods for them and turning the living room into a place of blankets, forts, laughter, and comfort. Many of those friends continue to remember the care she showed them.

One of Glee’s favorite memories with her mother was helping carry a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon together while Barbara was working at Universal Studios. Other treasured memories include traveling together to Mississippi and New York City, as well as the many times the mother-daughter duo found themselves in laughing fits, sometimes at the most inappropriate moments, like church.

Barbara was known for her old-fashioned expressions and little sayings. She would tell her loved ones, “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around your neck,” and would end the night with, “Goodnight, sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite.” 

Barbara shared a special bond with her sister Glee and especially loved their weekly dinners at Glee’s house. She looked forward to those evenings, and she never passed up an opportunity to enjoy Glee’s cooking. Those simple weekly dinners were a meaningful part of her life.

Barbara leaves behind her daughter Glee Dunbar; son-in-law Ed Dunbar; granddaughter Meadow Dunbar; her sister Leonilda Rudzinski; her sister Glee Hellyar and brother-in-law Denny Hellyar; her best friend of a lifetime Donna Lunati; her niece Ginger and her family; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Kendall Webb; her mother, Helen Jewell Stevens; and her brother, Kenny Webb.

She will be remembered for her generous heart, her independent spirit, her unmistakable sayings, and the love she gave in the ways that came naturally to her. She will be deeply missed by the people who knew and loved her.
