Barbara passed peacefully on July 25, 2025 living to the age of 88 years old.

Born in Dearborn, Michigan, to George and Victoria Abel, Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She had two Master's Degrees and worked as a Substance Abuse Psychologist at Brighton Hospital in Brighton, MI.  She especially enjoyed shopping, quilting, knitting, reading, coffee, and sweet treats.  Barbara loved her dog Daisy, a Bichon Frise.

Barbara is survived by her four children, Lisa (Kevin) Nekola, Mark (Michelle) Stevens, Amy Stevens, and Heidi (Dave) Rubins, and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in Barbara's memory.
