Barry Richard Mann, 93, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026.  

Barry was born in Syracuse, New York, to Richard and Peggy Mann, and went on to live a life defined by service, craftmanship, and an enduring love of music. 

A proud Veteran of the United States Navy, Barry made a lasting impact during his service by found the first Seabees Band, a legacy that would blend his patriotism with his lifelong passion for music.  During this time, his wife, June, was honored as the first Seabee Queen, marking a unique chapter in their shared story.  Barry's contributions to the Seabees Band earned him special recognition from the Navy. 

Following his military service, Barry build a successful career in construction, founding Mann-Made Additions in 1964, which he owned and operated until his retirement.  His work helped shape homes and communities, reflecting his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic. 

Music, however, was always at the heart of Barry's life.  He founded Barry Man's Orchestra, performing throughout South Florida for many years, including appearances at the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds and the Miami Orange Bowl Parades.  His talent and leadership led to performances for both President George H. W. Bush and President Bill Clinton, where he received distinguished recognition from the White House. 

Barry is survived by his son, Brian Douglas Mann, and daughter, Victoria Jenkins; his granddaughters, Ashley Vera and Christina Covell; and his great-grandchildren, Dylan Vera, Baron Covell and Coral Covell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on March 30, 2026, at 11:00am at Sarasota National Cemetery.  There will be no prior visitation. 

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hope Hospice, including the compassionate care team at the Hope Hospice House in Ft. Myers, as well as the service members who provided a special military honor ceremony prior to Barry's passing.
