IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beatrice
Scott
February 19, 1937 – May 30, 2025
Beatrice "Faith" Elaine Bernard-Scott (nee Webb), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great, grandmother, passed away peacefully at 3:30pm on Friday May 30, 2025 at the age of 88. Born in Kingston, Jamaica on February 19, 1937, her family moved to Spanish Town when she was 3 years old. Faith attended St. Catherine Primary, Barracks Primary and Cathedral High School (now St. Jago High). In 1953 her family moved to Mill Bank, Portland and in 1955 she married Kenneth Bernard. She later divorced him, and moved to live in Old Harbour, St. Catherine where in 1972 she married Rochester Scott. Mama cherished time with her family ensuring that all felt supported and loved. She was known for her positive qualities like her natural warmth, friendliness, kindness, generosity, always ready with a listening ear and her warm embrace.
Being a pillar of strength and love for her family and community paved the way for her to become a dedicated teacher and mentor to many. She attended Caledonia Junior College and Moneague Teachers College under the authority of the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica, to become an outstanding trained educator subsequently teaching at Drapers Primary, Bellevue Primary and Moore Town Primary in Portland. She later taught at Old Harbour Primary and Marlie Mount Primary Schools in St. Catherine. In addition to her secular successes, mama was a dedicated servant of Jehovah. Her faith was not only strong but it was all enduring as she has been a baptized witness for over 60 years and has served zealously as preacher of righteousness for all that time. We look forward to seeing her continued faith in Jehovah in the new world.
Faith is survived by her loving family, including husband Rochester, children Patricia (PB/Pat); William (Bill); Desiree (Dr. B.); Kenneth-Andrew (sp. Claudine); Cordel (sp. David Human); Milton (sp. Ebony) and Monica. Grandchildren O'Neil, Nicole, Robert, Nicholas, Tiffany (sp. Ben), Annelese (d. 2014), Carlos, Paulyon, Ashleigh, David, Malek and Macai. Great-grandchildren Esco (sp. Lexis), Matthew, Zoe and Drew. Great-great-grandchildren Isabella, Amiah and Ezra. Also mourning her passing are 4 brothers Leonardis (Bobby), Frederick, Glen, and Patrick as well as 4 sisters Sandra, Marguerite, Geraldine (Maureen) and Carol, and her beloved cousin Horace Bogues, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and children she fostered, along with numerous colleagues, friends and spiritual brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by daughters Florence (Panky) 1959; and Ingrid (Griddy) 1965; father Sidney Glen Webb 1979; mother Geraldine Evelyn Webb (nee Bogues) 2010; granddaughter Annelese Renee Bernard-Gower 2014 and brother Kenneth Vivian Webb 2016.
