Benito Medina , 80, of Largo, FL, passed away on January 22, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1944, in Nampa, ID.
Benito dedicated 35 years of service to Western Forge, where he was honored with the prestigious Award of Excellence for his outstanding contributions as a Hammer Operator and Forklift Operator. He retired in 1997, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
A man with a generous heart, Benito was deeply involved in his community. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels through the SRDA in Pueblo, CO, and extended his compassion to foster care organizations such as Colorado Bluesky and Fluff Animal Rescue. His passion for family, the Denver Broncos, and giving back to others defined his life's purpose.
Benito was married to Genevieve Ortega for 11 years, with whom he had two daughters. Later, he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with Sandra Tenorio, and together they welcomed two more daughters.
He is preceded in death by his ex-wife, Genevieve Ortega; daughter, Kathrine Medina; and brothers, Richard and Pilar Medina.
Benito is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Tenorio-Medina; daughters, Anita Gutierrez, Crystal Tenorio-Medina, and Odelia Tenorio-Medina; as well as his children of choice, Myron Trujillo, Carlos Trujillo, Felicia Snook, and Christina Greenhill. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandson, Daniel Salinas; siblings, Sarah & Bill Scheffler, Beatrice Withrow, Virginia Gonzalez, Lucio Medina, Ernest Medina, Abran Medina, and Arthur Medina.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Benito's honor on February 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Bay Ranch Mobile Home Clubhouse, 7349 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33771. In keeping with Benito's joyful spirit, attendees are kindly requested not to wear black, as this is a celebration of his life rather than a funeral.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Fluff Animal Rescue at fluffanimalrescue.org, honoring Benito's love for saving lives and helping animals.
Benito's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and community will forever be cherished.
