Bernard Michael Grummell, 62, New Smyrna Beach FL died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Hospice Care Center Port Orange, FL. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and came to New Smyrna Beach in 1990. He served our nation in the US Army in Vietnam and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, W/60 Device Commendation Medal, Sharpshooter Badge M-14 with Rifle Bar Marksman Badge M-16 Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. He earned a Bachelor's Degree at Westfield State College. He was active with the VARECS Ham Radio Club Emergency Center in Daytona Beach and Volusia County Traffic Network. He is survived by his mother Jacqueline Grummell, sister Margaret Sullivan, brother-in-law Kevin Sullivan, nephew Edward (Ned) Sullivan, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Grummell and sister Joanne Grummell.
