Bertha James Barton 95 of Orlando went to be with the Lord May 21, 2018. Bertha was born October 19, 1922 to Joseph Levi James and Elizabeth "Bessie" Murray James in Athens Ga.

Nana will be remembered for her independence and longevity at work, serving Florida Hospital South for 40 years until she was 94. She loved to crochet and made sure the maternity ward was always stocked with baby caps. Her love for family showed on the many Friday night homemade scratch suppers she prepared.

She is survived by 2 sons, James (Joedith) of Daytona, and Steven (Lori) of Orlando. 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney, Heather, Jill, and Michael, along with 6 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Pine Castle Baptist Church, June 2, visitation at 10:00 am, and the service at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers the family request a donation be made to Halifax Hospice Port Orange.
