Bertha (Bea) Swift (68), of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away on February 24, 2024.  Bea was born on July 4, 1955 in New Smyrna Beach to John Swift and Lucille Swift.  Bea attended Faulkner elementary school, New Smyrna Beach Junior High school and graduated from New Smyrna Beach High school in 1973.

Bea was a certified nurses' aid and was a caregiver to many people.  She also studied radiology.  Bea spent more than 20 years at the Volusia County Finance Department in New Smyrna Beach.  As a local of New Smyrna, she was a well-known and trusted face at the Tag Office.

Bea was a hard worker who was always dedicated to her craft.  She loved to travel, but thoroughly enjoyed going to the theme parks in Disney.  Bea also loved music, singing, and collecting tiger artifacts and memorabilia.

Bea is survived by her son, Neil Erb, her sister and brother Gretchen Swift and Charles Swift, her grandson Ryley Scott, and extended family members in Florida and New Jersey.

Bea was preceded in death by her husband Jack Lewis, her mother Lucille Normand, her father John D Swift, and her sisters Sheila Whittenton and Rosella King.

A celebration of life will be held at her residence on Thursday February 29 at 5pm
