Ocala-Bessie Coleman Moncrief was born on July 19, 1943, and went to her heavenly home on June 14, 2025. Bessie was born to Walter Jefferson Coleman and Ellen Price Coleman in Dover, FL. Bessie married the love of her life, Robert Franklin Moncrief Jr. on December 26, 1960. Their love story continued for over 55 years until the passing of Frank on November 4, 2016. She was a devoted wife, loving mother to their only child, Janice Stewart and the best "Mawmaw" ever to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bessie was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Ocala. She spent many years working in women's ministries and on different church committees. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life, her words and deeds, often belting out hymns right out of the blue. She loved spending time with her family, working in her flower garden and treasure hunting in a good thrift store. Bessie is survived by her daughter Janice Stewart, her grandsons Robert Stewart (DeeDee) (Sierra), Brian Stewart (Michelle), her great-grandchildren, Grace, Riley, Colton and Mikensly, all of Ocala. She is also survived by her sisters, Louise Williams (Bobby) of Wildwood FLand Helen Dyal of Plant City FL, her brother James Coleman of Belleview FL as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Bessie is preceded in death by her husband Robert Franklin Moncrief Jr., her father Walter Jefferson Coleman, mother Ellen Price Coleman, her sister Virginia Terry and her brothers Alfred Coleman, Albert Coleman, Harry Coleman and Donald Coleman. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday July 12, 2025, at The Church of God of Prophecy 1307 NE 9th Ave Ocala FL 34470 with Pastor J. V. Sullivan officiating.
