IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty
Keith
December 6, 1936 – June 18, 2017
Betty Lee Keith , 80, left this earth on Sunday, June 18, 2017. Betty succumbed to complications from corticobasal degeneration, while at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wendell Keith, daughter Lesa Wood (Tim), son Kendell Keith (Jennifer), granddaughters Kristin Regenold (Matt), Lyndsey Keith, Elise Keith, and Aly Keith, grandsons Christopher Wood (Allison), and Sean Keith, great grandchildren Savannah Regenold, Bennett Regenold, Silas Regenold, and Lyla Wood, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her brother Paul Potts and her sister Belinda Sims. She is also survived by her brother John (Boyden) Potts (Sandy) and her sister Bobbi Marvi (Nat).
Betty will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina to Gurney and Beulah Potts. She lived and made life-long friends in Clinton, TN, Marietta, GA, Conyers, GA, Rincon, GA, and Orlando, FL. Her professional career spanned many decades of service working for the Federal Government, including the Tennessee Valley Authority, Dobbins Air Force Base and the Centers for Disease Control, where she retired in 1997.
Betty was a master gardener, member of the Red Hat Society of Savannah, Georgia and member of the Pine Castle Garden Club. She was a dedicated servant of God and member of Rincon First Baptist Church. Betty was known for her beautiful smile and gracious heart. Betty's home was always open to family, friends and friends of friends. If you were fortunate enough to be a guest, Betty made sure that you were well-fed with her wonderful home cooking.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nona Keith (sister in law) who lived with Betty and Wendell for nearly three years, leaving her own family and friends in Tennessee to lovingly care for Betty through this journey. Others that touched Betty's life and hold a special place in our hearts are Geralda (GiGi) Joseph and Sherry Smith with Touching Hearts, Sherrie Labarre, Collette, Claudia, Pastor Gilmar Dousa, and numerous other nurses, doctors, and caregivers with Cornerstone Hospice.
