IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly Kay
Blossom
October 14, 1946 – February 2, 2026
Beverly Kay Blossom was born October 14,1946 in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of Solomon and Henrietta (Stiver) Stoffer, the 6th of nine children. Her father passed away at an early age, leaving her mother and siblings dependent upon each other to make ends meet. This created a significant bond with one another, especially for Bev and her sisters Betty, Clara, and Phyllis along with their families, who spent a lot of time sitting around a table socializing and playing cards with one another. Bev attended elementary and high school in Ft. Wayne, IN.
On August 12, 1974, Bev was united in marriage to James L. Blossom in Virginia Beach, VA. and celebrated over 51 years of companionship and love throughout. They had one son together, Kenteth Blossom, and she had two sons from a previous marriage, Raymond Vaughn and Scott Vaughn. Bev had two special step-daughters, Carol Keppler and Tamara Hickman, and this unique family of five became one through Bev and Jim’s love as a symbol of their kindness and compassion. Bev worked for over 30 years at J.C. Penney Corporation in both Indiana and Arizona with many roles but primarily as a Basic Logic Assistant. In the early 90’s for several years, Bev and Jim owned a sports licensed apparel franchise together called “The Pro Image”, located in Portage, MI, where she took on the responsibility to manage and operate the day-to-day activities of the business while they still lived in Indiana, which created quite the commute for her each day.
Bev was blessed with a long retirement and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and everything else to the people she met sharing her smile, infectious laugh, compassionate heart, and unconditional love. She loved to bake and cook and was best known for her Christmas cookies, homemade noodles, and butterscotch pie. She enjoyed tailgating and communicating with her brother Ron religiously while watching Notre Dame football games. She also loved the New York Yankees and watched them play daily with Jim by her side. Bev was an avid collector of Angel figurines and enjoyed worship at Faith Presbyterian Church where she and Jim are members.
Bev went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2nd, 2026 following a battle of cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, James Blossom, and her three children, Raymond Vaughn (Greenwood, IN); Scott (Teresa) Vaughn (Cape Coral, FL); and Kenteth (Theresa) Blossom (Wellman, IA); two step-daughters Carol (Rob) Keppler (Mishawaka, IN); Tamara (Jim) Hickman (Cape Coral, FL); nine grandchildren Corey Hickman (North Carolina); Ashley Beard (Cape Coral, FL); Kyle Hickman (Florida); Mckenna Keppler (South Bend, IN); Riley Keppler (Mishawaka, IN); Zane (Odalys) Vaughn (Indiana); Meredith Blossom (London, UK); Jesse Blossom (Wellman, IA); and 6 great-grandchildren. Bev is also survived by her sisters Clara Dorsey (Altoona, PA); Phyllis Ramm (New Haven, IN); and brother Ronald (Louise) Stoffer (PA) along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding in her death were her parents, Solomon and Henrietta; brothers Robert Stoffer, Frank Stoffer and Jimmy Stoffer, and sisters Judy Marker and Betty Jannetta; and grand-daughter Erin Nicole Keppler.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 6th, 2026, at Faith Presbyterian Church, Cape Coral, with a light snack and sharing to follow. Rev. Dr. Gillian Weighton will officiate. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life event will be planned for a later date in Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hope Hospice (Cape Coral, FL) and Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute (Cape Coral, FL). Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society in Cape Coral is caring for Bev and her family. Messages and tributes may be sent to the family at baldwincremation.com.
