Obituary

Beverly L. Carter of Summerfield, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026. She was born on April 1, 1939, in Hastings, Pennsylvania, the youngest daughter of Anthony and Lenora (Walters) Dubetsky. Beverly married Hendy R. “Dick” Davidson in February 1960, and together they raised their family in Monroe, New York until Dick’s untimely passing in January 1982. In 1985, Beverly married Lawarnce Carter and lovingly cared for him through his courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her fourteen brothers and sisters—Mary, Esther, Elaine, Daniel, Donald, Rita, Rose, Eugene, Alphonse, Raymond, Richard, George, James, and Patrica; and her special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vic Iannieillo and Skip Dubetsky. Beverly was a woman of remarkable determination. She earned her nursing degree while working full time and raising a family—an accomplishment that reflected her grit and strength. She began her career as a labor and delivery nurse in New York, later embracing her adventurous spirit as a traveling nurse across the United States. She completed a distinguished 40-year nursing career as an operating room nurse in Florida. Never one to slow down for long, Beverly chose to semi-retire by escaping the Florida heat—driving cross-country in her sixties to spend summers in Montana working as a prep cook. Her independence and love of adventure remained hallmarks of her life. Beverly was an avid reader, a devoted BINGO player, and a lifelong cat lover. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, especially those who shared in her passions and laughter. She leaves behind her daughters, Lenora, admired for her resilience, and Lori, known for her generous and giving heart; her son, Richard, known for his quick wit; her grandchildren, Scott, who shares her passion for travel, Katie, who inherited her love of books, and Stephanie, whose adventurous spirit echoes Beverly’s own; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jason and Anastasia. In accordance with Beverly’s wishes, there will be no celebration of life. Those who feel compelled to honor her memory are invited to donate to a local cat rescue or library.
