Beverly Anne (Sherman) Moulin, born: 02/02/1943 – passed: 06/01/2023. Age 80. She was born in Caribou, Maine, and died in Fort Myers, FL

Beverly (Bev) Anne Moulin passed away on 06/01/2023 at the age of 80, peacefully and at home with her family, in Fort Myers, Florida.

Bev was born in Caribou, Maine in 1943, to Ernest (Buck) Sherman and Geraldine (Hatt) Sherman, and grew up in Auburn, Maine. She attended Edward Little High School, graduating with Class of 1961. She met her husband, Richard E. Moulin, when she was 14 and he was 16 years old at the YMCA in Auburn, and participated in the high school marching band alongside him.

After her graduation, she and Dick married and had their wedding ceremony at the former Poland Spring House. Their first daughter, Michele joined them the following May, while Dick was serving in the Navy aboard the USS Enterprise. After living in Brunswick, GA, Dick was stationed in Puerto Rico where they spent three years in the tropical environment. They then moved next to Memphis, TN. The family was later joined by second daughter Christina (Moulin) Dargis in Whidbey Island, WA, where Dick was then stationed. Dick's Navy career took them to multiple locations around the United States, but brought them finally back to Brunswick NAS to be closer to family.

After settling in Freeport, Maine, Bev worked for the local school system as a kitchen manager, and later had a long and happy career as a retail supervisor for a number of local factory outlets, the LL Bean flagship store, and as a goodwill ambassador for the Freeport Merchants Association. In addition to camping in the Rangeley Lakes region, Bev and Dick loved to spend time with their Siberian husky "Nikki" on their boat the "Sea Husky", which was often moored at the New Meadows Marina in Bath, ME. Bev was a voracious reader, with a special affinity for murder mystery novels, and would sometimes read a book a day. She also was a history buff, and was especially interested in the genealogy of her ancestors that helped establish puritan and colonial settlements in the early history of the US.

Bev later moved to Fort Myers, FL to live with her daughter Christina and son-in-law Steven, where she loved playing with their dogs and sitting by the pool.

Bev was predeceased by her husband Dick in 2019. She is survived by her daughter Michele (Rick) Bowie of Georgetown, ME, daughter Christina (Steven) Dargis of Fort Myers, FL, grandson Scott Bowie of Lisbon, ME, granddaughter Brianna Bowie of Winslow, ME, great-granddaughters Sophia, Scarlett, and Leila, and special cousin Rebecca (Leland) Hatt Croteau. She will be especially missed by grand-dog Leroy, the black mouth cur, who seemed to always want to be by her side.

A celebration of life will take place in October, 2023 in Maine.

Richard Edward Moulin, born: 06/29/1941 – passed: 04/13/2019. Age 78. He was born in Auburn, Maine, and died in Fort Myers, FL

Richard (Dick) Edward Moulin passed away April 13, 2019 at Winkler Court nursing home in Fort Myers, FL, after a long battle with dementia.

Dick was born in Auburn, Maine to Marcia (Vachon) and Roland H. Moulin. He was the eldest of three boys, Tom in the middle, and Harry the youngest. (Yes, they really were known as "Tom, Dick, and Harry"). Dick met the woman he would forever think as the most beautiful on earth when he was 16 and she was 14, at a dance at the local YMCA. He wore a letterman jacket for the Androscoggin ("Andy") Valley team he was playing on, so Bev thought Dick's name for a while was "Andy Valley", much to everyone's amusement.

After Dick's graduation in 1959 from Edward Little High School, he shipped out for basic training in the US Navy to Naval Station Great Lakes, the furthest he had been from home at that time. He would later travel the world with the Navy and his government contracting positions, crossing the equator at least once and earning the Sons of Neptune certificate. When Bev graduated in 1961, they were married and welcomed their first daughter Michele the following May, while Dick was serving aboard the USS Enterprise. After living in Brunswick, GA, Dick was stationed in Puerto Rico and Memphis, TN before moving to Whidbey Island, WA. The family was later joined by second daughter Christina (Moulin) Dargis while in Whidbey. Dick was also stationed at Patuxent River NATC in Maryland, a test center where he was involved in the first GPS mapping missions over the US in the 1970s. He ended his Navy career at Brunswick NAS in Maine to be closer to family. Dick's squadron in Maine was known as the "Special Projects", focusing on Cold War intelligence and anti-submarine surveillance in the Atlantic. He was proud that sons-in-law Rick and Steven and grandson Scott were also military veterans.

After retirement, he was a systems analyst for multiple government contractors working with the Navy. Later, he worked for the LL Bean flagship store in Freeport, ME in customer service and at their newly formed credit card promotion table. He also, and in his final working position, was a driver for LL Bean's Outdoor Discovery School, shuttling customers to canoeing, snowshoeing, or skeet shooting classes throughout Freeport. He loved electronics and even built multiple television and computers from kits he purchased at Radio Shack. He and Bev enjoyed camping in the Maine wilderness, and loved to spend time with their Siberian husky "Nikki" on their boat the "Sea Husky", which was often moored at the New Meadows Marina in Bath, ME.

Dick is survived by his daughters Michele (Rick) Bowie, of Georgetown, ME and Christina (Steven) Dargis of Fort Myers, FL, grandson Scott Bowie, of Lisbon, ME, granddaughter Brianna Bowie, of Winslow, ME, great-granddaughters Sophia, Scarlett, and Leila, brothers Thomas (Muguette) Moulin of Auburn, ME and Harry (Irene) Moulin of Tuscon, AZ, and niece Lynn (Paul) Witten of Auburn, ME. Dick also leaves behind a large extended family of cousins that he adored located throughout Maine and the United States.
