Obituary

Beverly A. Sparks, 64, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, FL.  Despite enduring many years of difficult medical challenges, Bev brought happiness, love and surprises to all in her life with her charitable nature, outgoing friendliness, quick wit, straight talk and infectious smile.  She delighted in meeting people, soon to be new friends, making everyone comfortable and relaxed wherever she went.

She was passionate in all her endeavors, from fabricating/repairing hearing aids, doing bookkeeping for a small business, top performing realtor, home renovations, to all types of arts and crafts, or on the golf course, at a ping-pong or pool table; she relished hard work, dedication and spirited competition.  Her art projects were her true joy; she usually had several works in progress that were planned to be gifted on completion.

Bev enjoyed all types of music, creating eclectic playlists, going to concerts, getting to check a major item off her bucket list last year when seeing George Strait. She loved traveling and exploring new destinations, whether on road trips, "cruising" the Caribbean or the Villages in a golf cart.  Bev was a knowledgeable sports fan of golf, football and in recent years hockey and baseball.   She was that confident lady golfer that was comfortable teeing off in a threesome of guys, never intimidated.

Bev was born September 27, 1960, in Buffalo, NY., to the late Douglas Shenk and lived most of her life in Florida (Orlando and The Villages).

Bev is survived by her beloved life partner and best friend of 25 years, Gary Anderson of The Villages, her mother Beverly (Alfieri) Adams, her sister Becky Weirick and her husband Ray of Osteen, FL.  She is predeceased by brothers Douglas and Randall Shenk.  Her stepbrother Scott Adams lives in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.  Bev had no children but developed deep bonds with niece Nicole Shenk of Buffalo, NY. and Gary's daughter, Lindsay Drawbridge of Barre, MA.  Other nieces and nephews included Ray Weirick II, Brandi Weirick, Douglas Shenk III, Zalia Adams, Maddie Adams and Eli Adams.

A private memorial-life celebration for family and friends, honoring Bev will be held at a date to be determined.
