IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bill "Cowboy"
Gelber
July 8, 1957 – January 12, 2026
Bill "Cowboy" Gelber passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Astatula, Florida. Bill was born on July 8, 1957 to Janet and Charles Gelber in Springfield, Illinois.
Bill was an accomplished "business man" and machine specialist at PGI before retiring to Florida. He kept himself busy, wheeling, dealing and hustling. When he wasn't doing that, he could be found at the dog park with his "little girl" (Athena) and buddy Pete and his (Oliver). Bill enjoyed going out on his boat with his dear friends, Debbie and Jaimee.
Bill loved his cowboy boots, his cowboy hats, and his cowboy ways, and more than anything, his "little girl" Athena. Bill was a God-fearing outlaw and born-again Christian.
He is survived by his spouse, Betty Ann Gelber; his son, Max Gabriel Gelber (Avery Brooke); Beverly Conway (Kevin) and her family; nieces, Skylar, Chloe, and Olivia; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Pennachio; his brother-in-law, John Pennachio; his brother, and best friend, Wes Caruso, and his little girl, Athena.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Charles Gelber.
The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life service.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an animal shelter in his memory.
