Billy V. Hanson of Ormond Beach, FL, formerly of Waukegan, IL, peacefully passed away on Tuesday March 28, 2023, surrounded by family. Billy was born on March 23, 1942, to Connie and Trixie Hanson in Hamilton, Alabama.

The family relocated to Zion, IL when Billy was still a young boy. It was in Zion, IL that Billy met his future wife of almost 63 years, Betty West, and together they raised their only son Bill.

Billy retired from Ammco Tools in North Chicago, IL, rising to the level of plant manager. Billy had a love for life, his family and many good friends, racing, motorcycles, cars, and fishing. He was well known to enjoy a cold Miller Lite or two with friends while listening to some classics: Haggard, Jones, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Those who knew Billy knew he was one of a kind, with a personality that filled the room, and never shy to talk to anyone. Always tinkering with something, he was always ready to help a friend or neighbor in need with anything that needed fixing. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Billy was preceded in death by his father and mother, Connie and Trixie, and his beloved little brother Tommy (TC). Billy is survived by his wife Betty, his son Bill (Melonie), granddaughter Brittny, grandsons Jake and Brody, and great-grandson Jacob. Interment will be private for family.
