Obituary

Bobbie Lee Cowherd (nee Gwaltney), 87,  of Oak Hill passed from this life and stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 12, 2010.  Bobbie Lee was born February 24, 1923 in Cairo, GA the youngest girl out of seven children.  She was in Leesburg, FL when she met her husband, Virgil J. Cowherd.  They later settled in Orlando where they raised their three children and eventually moving to Oak Hill in 1983 thus allowing Virgil to fish to his heart's desire.  Bobbie Lee adored her husband.  She was a loving, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was a woman of God and lived out her faith with quiet strength as she loved and cared for her family through the seasons of her life.  Bobbie was a wonderful cook.  She is known for delicious pound cakes and the warmth that they would bring to your heart.  Bobbie Lee was a true "Southern Belle".  She was preceded by her husband in 1991.  Bobbie is survived by her three devoted children, Carolyn and son-in-law, Ron Bailey of Tarboro, NC, Suzanne and son-in-law, Mark Jarrell of New Smyrna Beach and Jeff and daughter-in-law, Christy Cowherd of Orlando; four cherished grandchildren, Dena Fowler, Joey Godley, Colby Cowherd and Melissa Cowherd and four adored great grandchildren, Paige, Peyton, Kaleb and Lily. 11:00 Am at Glen Haven Memorial Park 2300 Temple Drive Winter Park, FL on September 17, 2010 (map/driving directions) Glen Haven Memorial Park 2300 Temple Drive Winter Park, FL (map/driving directions)
