Bonnie Newell, 85, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida passed away from natural causes on April 16, 2026. Bonnie was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1940 and moved with her family to Volusia County in 1975. After living for many years in Ormond Beach, she and her husband, Ned, who passed in 2004, moved to New Smyrna Beach. 

Bonnie is survived by her son Ed and his wife Amy Bolaski; son Jim; her grandchildren, Shael, Gabe, and Reed; her sister and brother-in-law Betsy and Pete Elkins; and her brother Buddy Ramey. 

Bonnie was a life-long educator, and in her later years, wanted to be with family and work on their beautiful property in New Smyrna. She will be missed by her family and those who knew her well.

Following her wishes, there will be no service.
