Obituary

Brenda Kay DeVore Boncore, 61, of Tampa, Florida, took her last earthly breath at home on May 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda was a natural leader with an alleged IQ greater than 220. She possessed an uncanny ability to bring people together in every imaginable situation. She always had a story to tell, a witty quip to share, and a warm hug to offer. Her love for people was evident in everything she did, and random gift-giving brought her tremendous joy. Her generosity spilled over into every aspect of her life.

Brenda was truly selfless, even enduring grueling cancer treatment regimens in an effort to spare her parents the heartbreak of losing another child.

With grace and dignity, Brenda fought long and hard after her diagnosis in December 2019. When the medical team at Moffitt Cancer Center had exhausted every option to battle the “big ugly monster” known as cancer, Suncoast Hospice was there to provide the compassionate palliative care she so deserved.

A 1983 graduate of Paden City High School, Brenda proudly graduated from Marshall University in 1987. Immediately after graduation, she moved to Florida to begin her professional career, initially with Pitney Bowes, followed by Lever Brothers, AIMCO, and eventually Northland Investment Corporation.

Brenda devoted more than 20 years to the multifamily housing industry, building a respected career defined by leadership, professionalism, and dedication to excellence. Her most recent chapter was with Northland Investment Corporation, where she began her tenure on January 17, 2012, and faithfully served until her retirement on August 8, 2025.Throughout her career, Brenda was recognized not only for her extensive expertise, but also for her remarkable ability to inspire and develop strong teams. Her leadership style encouraged others to succeed while creating supportive, high-performing environments wherever she worked.

In addition to her operational accomplishments, Brenda proudly held her Broker License through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Real Estate, further demonstrating her commitment to the industry and her professional standards.

Brenda loved spending time in Key West, where she eventually married the love of her life, Angelo Boncore. Together, they built a beautiful life with their beloved feline companion, Jack.

Brenda was preceded in death by her only brother, David DeVore, in 1977. In addition to her husband and Jack, Brenda is survived by her parents, Denny DeVore and Barbara Williamson DeVore of Homosassa Springs; her special cousins, Richard Williamson (Cami), Tyler Williamson (Townsend), and Trevor Williamson (Aubre), of New Martinsville; and her college roommate and sister of the heart, Stacey Blythe Fischer (Tim) of Key Vista, who will forever treasure a lifetime of memories.

Brenda’s life will be celebrated eternally by those who truly loved her.
